Translating contracts and transactions for foreigners in Vietnam

In case foreigners are not fluent in Vietnamese, can they authenticate contracts and transactions in Vietnamese at a competent authority in Vietnam ?

Interpreters in contract or transaction authentication:

In case the person requesting authentication of a contract or transaction is not fluent in Vietnamese, an interpreter must be provided. The interpreter must be a person with full civil act capacity as prescribed by law, fluent in Vietnamese and the language used by the requester for authentication. The interpreter is invited by the person requesting authentication or appointed by the agency performing the authentication. Interpretation remuneration shall be paid by the requester for authentication (Clause 1, Article 22 of Circular No. 01/2020/TT-BTP dated March 3, 2020).

Therefore, in case a foreigner is not fluent in Vietnamese, he/she must have an interpreter in order to authenticate contracts and transactions in Vietnamese at a competent authority in Vietnam./.
