Worker visa in Vietnam

Hi DMS Law office in Vietnam! I am a foreign worker in Vietnam. Can you advise me about new regulations regarding worker visa in Vietnam ?

A worker visa enables foreign workers to work temporarily for a specific employer in Vietnam.

Vietnam visa

Visa means a document issued by a competent authority of Vietnam to a foreigner to grant entry into Vietnam (Clause 11 Article 3 Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Vietnam No. 47/2014/QH13).

Vietnam worker visa

According to Clauses 3 and 4 Article 1 Law No.51/2019/QH14 dated 25 November 2019, comes into effect from 01 July 2020, there are 02 types of worker visa in Vietnam:

LĐ1 - issued to foreigners who come to work in Vietnam with certificate of work permit exemption, unless otherwise provided for in international treaties to which the Social Republic of Vietnam is a contracting party.

LĐ2 - issued to foreigners who come to work in Vietnam with work permit.

The duration of a LĐ1, LĐ2 visa does not exceed 02 years.
