I am teaching at an English center in Danang, Vietnam as a full-time employee (less than a year). I want to re-negotiate my labour contract as a part-time employee but still enjoy the same rights and obligations as a full-time employee ? Part-time employees in Vietnam ? 

A part-time employee in Vietnam is a person who works for less than the normal daily or weekly working hours as provided by the labor law in Vietnam, the collective labor agreement of the enterprise or the sector or the employer’s regulations in Vietnam.

An employee may negotiate with the employer on work on a part-time basis when entering into a labor contract in Vietnam.

Part-time employees are entitled to a wage and have the same rights and obligations as full-time employees, and are entitled to equal opportunities and to non-discrimination and assured labor safety and hygiene (Article 34, the Labor Code No. 10/2012/QH13 dated June 18, 2012)./.
