Is a part-time employee treated less favorably than a full-time employee ?

Hi DMS Lawyers in Vietnam! I want to negotiate with my employer to change my full-time labor contract into a part-time one. Can you advise me about part-time employees ? Can a part-time employee be treated less favorably than a comparable full-time employee ? Are employment contracts the same for part-time workers ? Thanks!

Part-time workers:

A part-time employee is an employee who works for less than the normal daily or weekly working hours as provided by the labor law, the collective labor agreement of the enterprise or the sector or the employer’s regulations.

An employee may negotiate with the employer to work on a part-time basis when entering into a labor contract.

Employment rights of part-time workers:

A part-time employee is entitled to wage, the same rights and obligations as those for a full-time employee, equal rights to opportunities, non-discrimination, ensured labor safety and hygiene (Article 34 the Labor Code No. 52/VBHN-VPQH dated December 10, 2018).
