Visas for spouses and family members in Vietnam

Hi DMS Law office in Vietnam! I am a foreign investor in Vietnam. Can you advise me about new regulations regarding family visa in Vietnam ?

Vietnam visa

Visa means a document issued by a competent authority of Vietnam to a foreigner to grant entry into Vietnam (Clause 11 Article 3 Law on Entry, Exit, Transit and Residence of foreigners in Vietnam No. 47/2014/QH13).

Vietnam visas for spouses and family members

According to Clauses 3 and 4 Article 1 Law No.51/2019/QH14 dated 25 November 2019, comes into effect from 01 July 2020:

The visa for spouses and family members is called “TT visa” and issued to foreigners who are spouses, children of below 18 years old of visa holders of LV1, LV2, LS, ĐT1, ĐT2, ĐT3, NN1, NN2, DH, PV1, LĐ1, LĐ2 or foreigners who are parents, spouses, children of Vietnamese citizens.

The duration of a TT visa does not exceed 12 months.
