The Civil Code No. 91/2015/QH13 dated November 24, 2015, took effect on January 01, 2017 (replaced the Civil Code No. 33/2005/QH11 dated June 14, 2005). 

The Code contains some new provisions, such as:

Bases for establishment of civil rights (Article 8);

Methods for protecting civil rights (Article 11);

Minors (Article 21);

Right to have family and given names (Article 26);

Right to nationality (Article 31);

Commercial juridical persons (Article 76);

Branches and representative offices of juridical persons (Article 84);

Entities in civil relations with the participation of households, co-operative groups and other non-juridical persons (Article 101), and many other provisions.
