Overseas Vietnamese register for temporary residence in Vietnam ?

Hi DMS Law office in Vietnam! I am an overseas Vietnamese. I still retain Vietnamese nationality and want to come back to Vietnam for business and personal reasons. Could you advise me about the time-limit for temporary residence registration in Vietnam ? Where can I register for temporary residence in Vietnam ?

As you still retain Vietnamese nationality, the Law on Residence No. 03/VBHN-VPQH dated 11 July 2013 shall apply.

Subjects that the Law on Residence shall apply:

This Law applies to Vietnamese agencies, organizations, households and citizens and overseas Vietnamese who still hold the Vietnamese nationality and return to live in Vietnam.

Temporary residence registration in Vietnam:

Temporary residence registration means citizens register their places of temporary residence with competent state agencies which carry out the temporary residence registration procedures and issue temporary residence books to them.

Persons who are living, working, laboring or studying at a place in a commune, ward or township but are not entitled for permanent residence registration in that locality shall, within thirty days after their arrival, register their temporary residence at the commune/ward/township police offices (Article 30 Law on Residence No. 03/VBHN-VPQH dated 11 July 2013).
