Hi DMS Law office in Vietnam! We are foreign spouses looking to adopt a Vietnamese child. Could you advise me about dossier of the adopted child ?

Dossier of the adopted child

Dossier of the adopted child must comprise documents prepared in accordance with Article 32 of the Law on Adoption and the following specific provisions:

A written summary clearly states the health information, illness status, characteristics, the likes and remarkable habits of the child (if any) to facilitate the adopter in care, nurture, education of the adopted child, except for cases in which a step mother or step father adopting the stepchild of her/his spouse.

For children in the List No.1, the following documents are required:

A written document issued the Department of Justice enclosed papers, documents regarding the announcement for finding a Vietnamese replacement family for the child according to Point c Clause 2 Article 15 of the Law on Adoption;

A written confirmation of the Department of Child Adoption, stating that time for child adoption as stipulated in Point d Clause 2 Article 15 of the Law on Adoption has ended, but nobody in the country has applied for adoption (Article 14 Decree No 19/2011/ND-CP dated March 21, 2011).
